He was born in 1980 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and was blessed with a father who also played in the NBA, Mike Dunleavy Sr. Because of his father’s career, he grew up around various NBA players and coaches, and this influenced his affinity for basketball. He was known for his versatility and his prowess as a 3-point shooter. Mike Dunleavy retired in 2017 with a respectable average of 11.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
