Marc Trestman is a renowned American football coach, born on January 15, 1956, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. With undivided attention to improve his skills, Trestman played football as the Hawkeye quarterback in the University of Minnesota. After graduation, Trestman began his career as an assistant coach at the University of Miami in Florida, and his breakthrough was with the 1983 Miami Hurricanes team, including Jim Kelly, which won the Big East championship and made a trip to the Orange Bowl. Trestman had a successful American football coaching career that spanned over thirty years. After working for various teams in different capacities, including the Minnesota Viking, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, and the Oakland Raiders, he finally got his big break as a head coach. Trestman was appointed the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes, a professional Canadian football team, in 2008. In his first season as head coach, Trestman led the Alouettes to win the Grey Cup, the ultimate trophy of the Canadian Football League. He reached the Grey Cup finals three more times in his five-year stint with the Alouettes, winning it again in 2009 and 2010.
In 2013, Marc Trestman became the head coach of the Chicago Bears, a National Football League (NFL) team, after Lovie Smith was fired. Under Trestman, the Bears made history by setting a franchise record for points scored in a season. However, the team finished with a disappointing 8-8 record in his first season as head coach. After two seasons with the team, Trestman was fired by the Chicago Bears in December 2014. In 2015, he was hired as the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens, a position he held until 2018.
