At the University of Oklahoma, Broyles had an exceptional football career as a wide receiver. He played for the Sooners for four seasons from 2007 to 2011, earning many accolades along the way. He set numerous records, including most receptions by a Division I FBS player (349), most receiving yards by a Division I FBS player (4,586), and most consecutive games with at least one reception (48). Broyles was twice named a Consensus All-American and won the Biletnikoff Award in 2010.

After finishing his college career, Broyles entered the 2012 NFL Draft, where he was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round. He played for the Lions for three seasons from 2012 to 2014 before being released in 2015. His professional career was not as successful as his college career due to injuries and limited playing time. In 2016, Broyles announced his retirement from football and has since ventured into business and entrepreneurship.
