Coburn made his NHL debut for the Atlanta Thrashers in 2005, but he played most of his rookie season with the Thrashers' AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. Coburn helped the Wolves win the Calder Cup that year, earning him his first professional championship. Coburn established himself as a regular player in Atlanta's lineup the following season, and his strong play earned him a spot on the 2008 NHL YoungStars Game. Later in the season, the Thrashers traded Coburn to the Philadelphia Flyers, where he played for nine seasons, earning two trips to the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Coburn's career-defining moment came in the 2019-20 season when he was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he helped the team win their second Stanley Cup championship. In February of 2021, Coburn was traded to the Ottawa Senators, where he continues to be a dependable veteran presence. Throughout his NHL career, Coburn has been known for his physical play, booming slapshot, and shot-blocking ability. With over 950 regular-season games played, Coburn has become one of the most experienced defensemen in the league. Read even more about Braydon Coburn at Wikipedia
