Carbonneau was drafted 44th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. He played with the Canadiens from 1982-1994 and served as the team's captain for three seasons. Carbonneau was known for his defensive skills and played a significant role in the Canadiens' Stanley Cup championships in 1986 and 1993. He also won three Frank J.
