Rick Chartraw is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who is known for his impressive 13-year career in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on July 13, 1954, in Powassan, Ontario, Chartraw began his hockey journey at a young age, playing for various teams until eventually joining the Quebec Remparts in 1972. Chartraw played for four NHL teams during his career - the Montreal Canadiens, the Los Angeles Kings, the New York Rangers, and the Hartford Whalers. He started his NHL journey with the Montreal Canadiens in 1974 and played with them until 1979, where he won two Stanley Cups in 1976 and 1977. During his tenure with the Canadiens, he was known for his physical and solid defensive play. Following his time with the Canadiens, Chartraw joined the Los Angeles Kings, where he played from 1979 to 1982. He then went on to play for the New York Rangers from 1982 to 1985 and concluded his NHL career with the Hartford Whalers in 1987.

Chartraw retired from professional hockey in 1987 and has since gone on to work in other ventures, including coaching in Canadian junior hockey, running his business, and even being featured as a Wildman on TV. Despite his retirement, however, his contributions to the game of hockey have been recognized, and his name will forever be remembered as one of the most talented and dependable defensemen in NHL history.
