Alan Trammell is a former Major League Baseball shortstop and manager, born on February 21st, 1958, in Garden Grove, California. He played his entire career with the Detroit Tigers, from 1977 until 1996. Trammell was a six-time All-Star and a four-time Gold Glove Award winner, and he helped lead the Tigers to their 1984 World Series championship. More about Alan Trammell

Trammell made his Major League debut in 1977 as a 19-year-old for the Tigers. In his first full season, Trammell established himself as one of the league's top shortstops, hitting .268 with six home runs and 38 stolen bases. His best year came in 1987, when he hit .343 with 28 home runs and 105 RBI.
