Alex Liddi Autographs
Alex Liddi is an Italian former professional baseball player who spent several years playing in the minor leagues and appeared in the major leagues for brief stints. He was born on August 14, 1988, in Sanremo, Italy, and started playing baseball at a very young age. Liddi signed as an international free agent with the Seattle Mariners in 2005 at the age of 16 and started his professional baseball career.
Liddi spent eight seasons in the minor leagues, playing for various teams affiliated with the Mariners and the Baltimore Orioles. In 2011, he made his major league debut with the Mariners and became the first player from Italy to play in the major leagues. Liddi appeared in 38 games for Seattle that season, batting .225 with three home runs and 10 RBI. He played the next season in the minors and then had brief stints with the Mariners, the Chicago White Sox, and the Los Angeles Dodgers but was never able to establish himself as a regular in the major leagues.
In addition to his professional baseball career, Liddi also represented the Italian national baseball team in several international competitions, including the World Baseball Classic. He was a key player for Italy in the 2013 World Baseball Classic and helped the team reach the second round of the tournament. Liddi retired from professional baseball in 2019 and returned to Italy, where he has been coaching and promoting baseball to young players.
