Andy Marte Autographs
Andy Marte was a professional baseball player who was born on October 21, 1983, in Villa Tapia, Dominican Republic. He was the first player in the 2000s to be signed under Jim Thome's Cleveland Indians. Marte was known for his powerful right-handed swings and his outstanding defensive plays.
Marte began his baseball career in 2000 when he joined the Cleveland Indians. In 2005, he made his Major League debut as part of the Cleveland Indians. However, Marte struggled to find his footing in the Major Leagues, and after playing for the Indians, he was traded to the Boston Red Sox, and later to the Atlanta Braves. Marte played his last Major League game in 2014 as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Despite his struggles in the Major Leagues, Marte had a successful career in the Minor Leagues. In 2013, he played for the York Revolution in the independent Atlantic League. Marte also played in the Dominican Winter League and was named the MVP of the Dominican Winter Ligue championship series in 2010. Unfortunately, on January 22, 2017, Marte died in a car accident in the Dominican Republic at the age of 33. Despite his untimely death, Andy Marte will be remembered as a talented baseball player and a great loss to the baseball community.
