Anthony Varvaro was a professional baseball right-handed pitcher, born on October 31, 1984, in Staten Island, New York. He first started playing baseball in high school, and after being a key player for the Curtis High School baseball team, he went on to attend St. John's University. Varvaro made his Major League debut on June 3, 2010, pitching for the Seattle Mariners against the Minnesota Twins. He played for a number of teams throughout his career, including the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, and the New York Yankees. Over the course of his career, Varvaro recorded 143 strikeouts, with a 3.23 ERA in 183.1 innings pitched.

Varvaro’s career came to an end after he suffered a torn elbow ligament in 2016, causing him to undergo Tommy John surgery that forced him into retirement. After baseball, he took a job in Atlanta as the assistant coach for Georgia State University baseball team. He also opened a new baseball facility, calling it “All-Star Baseball Academy”, at the old home of the Pike School in Andover, Massachusetts.
