Bernie Williams, born on September 13, 1968, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a retired professional baseball player. Williams played 16 seasons in the major leagues, all with the New York Yankees, and was consistently one of their best players. During Williams' baseball career, he won four Gold Glove awards, and he was a five-time All-Star player. Williams was also an integral part of four World Series Championship teams with the New York Yankees. In 1996, he hit a crucial home run in game four of the World Series against the Atlanta Braves, which helped secure the Yankees' first championship in 18 years. Williams finished his career with a .297 batting average, 2,336 hits, 287 home runs, and 1,257 RBI.
