Bill Dickey was a legendary American baseball player and coach who was born on June 6, 1907, in Bastrop, Louisiana. He was known for his exceptional skills as a catcher and played for the New York Yankees from 1928 to 1946. Dickey won eight American League pennants and seven World Series championships during his career with the Yankees.
