Billy Wagner is a former American professional baseball player who spent 16 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a relief pitcher. He was born on July 25, 1971, in Virginia, US. Wagner was known for his incredible fastball, which frequently exceeded 100 miles per hour. He was also known for his consistency and his ability to pitch in high-pressure situations. Wagner's professional baseball career began in 1993 when he was drafted by the Houston Astros. He spent the majority of his early years with the Astros before being traded to the Phillies in 2004. In 2006, he was signed by the New York Mets, where he played until 2009. Wagner then moved on to the Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves before retiring in 2010.
