Brandon Laird Autographs
Brandon Laird was born on September 11, 1987, in Cypress, California. He is a former professional baseball third baseman who played for various teams in the Major League Baseball (MLB) and Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) organizations. He attended La Quinta High School in California and was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 27th round of the 2007 MLB draft.
Laird made his professional baseball debut in 2007, playing for the Gulf Coast Yankees in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League. He worked his way through the Yankees' minor league system, playing for the Staten Island Yankees, Charleston RiverDogs, Tampa Yankees, Trenton Thunder, and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. He made his MLB debut on July 22, 2011, with the New York Yankees, where he played in 11 games. Laird was then traded to the Houston Astros in 2012, where he played for two seasons. He later played in the NPB for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and Chiba Lotte Marines.
Throughout his baseball career, Laird was known for his power hitting and versatility to play multiple positions on the field. He finished his MLB career with a .197 batting average, 4 home runs, and 11 RBIs in 53 games. In Japan, Laird had a more successful career, hitting 168 home runs and 487 RBIs in 733 games. Laird retired from professional baseball in 2019 and now resides in California.
