Morrow was a standout pitcher at Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park, California. After high school, Morrow attended the University of California Berkeley where he played for the Golden Bears. Morrow was selected in the first round of the 2006 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft by the Seattle Mariners. He made his MLB debut in 2007 and played for the Mariners until 2009. In 2010, he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays, where he had some of his best performances. Morrow had an impressive 2012 season with the Blue Jays, where he recorded a 2.96 Earned Run Average (ERA), 1.11 WHIP, and 203 strikeouts.

Morrow played for the San Diego Padres in 2017 and 2018 and then signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Cubs in 2019. Unfortunately, his debut season with the Cubs was cut short due to injuries. In December 2019, he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he played his final season in 2020. On January 5, 2021, Morrow announced his retirement from professional baseball.
