Brett Marshall is a former professional baseball player who was born on March 22, 1990, in Highlands, Texas. He was a right-handed pitcher who was known for his fastball that could reach up to 96 miles per hour. He started playing baseball at a young age and showed immense talent in the sport. After completing high school, he was drafted by the New York Yankees in the sixth round of the 2008 MLB draft. He began his minor league career in 2009 with the Staten Island Yankees and worked his way up through the ranks.
Marshall spent six years in the Yankees' organization and played for various minor league teams under them. He made his debut in Triple-A with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in 2012. After that, the Yankees designated him for assignment in 2013, and he was claimed by the Chicago Cubs. However, he never made it to the majors with the Cubs because he had to undergo Tommy John surgery for an elbow injury. Later on, he was released by the Cubs, and he signed with the Cincinnati Reds. He made his major league debut with them on May 6, 2013, against the Atlanta Braves. He made a total of four starts for the Reds that season but was unable to secure a permanent spot on the roster.
Despite his short MLB stint, Brett Marshall had a decent career in the minors. He had a record of 44-53 with a 4.24 ERA in 168 games throughout his career. He also played in various winter leagues, including the Dominican Winter League, where he played for the Tigres del Licey. After his baseball career, he focused on his family life and returned to college to pursue a degree in finance. He now works as a financial advisor in Texas, where he lives with his wife and children.
