Bruce Maxwell Autographs
Bruce Maxwell is a former Major League Baseball player who was born in 1990 in Germany. The son of an American military family, he grew up in Alabama and began playing baseball from a young age. As a student at Sparkman High School, Maxwell was a standout catcher and was eventually drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the second round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft.
Maxwell made his Major League debut for Oakland in 2016, playing in 33 games during his rookie season. He quickly made a name for himself as a reliable catcher known for his excellent defensive skills, strong arm, and ability to handle pitchers. In 2017, Maxwell made headlines when he became the first Major League Baseball player to kneel during the national anthem in protest against police brutality and racial injustice, a move that drew both criticism and support from fans, players, and politicians. Despite the controversy, he continued to play for Oakland until 2018, when he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Maxwell struggled during his time with Arizona, batting just .182 in 18 games before being released in 2019.
Since leaving Major League Baseball, Maxwell has continued to speak out against racial injustice and police brutality. He has also been involved in several entrepreneurial ventures, including a mobile app designed to help people find minority-owned businesses in their area. Despite his controversial exit from the game, many fans and fellow players continue to admire Maxwell for his courage and willingness to speak out on important social issues.
