Dent is best known for his clutch hitting and for hitting one of the most memorable home runs in baseball history. In the 1978 American League East tie-breaker game against the Boston Red Sox, Dent hit a home run in the seventh inning that gave the Yankees a 3-2 lead. The Yankees went on to win the game by a score of 5-4, securing a spot in the playoffs and ultimately winning the World Series. That home run earned Dent the nickname "Bucky F**king Dent."

Dent played with the Yankees until 1982 and then played for several other teams before retiring in 1984. In his career, he made three All-Star appearances and won two Gold Gloves for his outstanding defense. In addition to his success on the field, Dent has also worked as a coach and manager for several minor league teams. He was inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 2000 in recognition of his contributions to the sport of baseball. Read even more about Bucky Dent at Wikipedia
