Baerga began his baseball career playing for the Cleveland Indians in 1990, where he played second base for two seasons. Baerga’s career highlights include being named to the All-Star team three times (1992, 1993, and 1995) and winning two Silver Slugger awards (1993 and 1995). He was instrumental in helping the Cleveland Indians win the American League pennant in 1995, and he played in the World Series the same year. Baerga had a lifetime batting average of .291 and had 1,588 hits, 134 home runs, and 774 runs batted in through his career.

Baerga retired from baseball in 2005, and he currently manages the Indios de Mayagüez, a Winter Baseball team based in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. He was inducted into the Cleveland Indians’ Hall of Fame in 2013, which honored his contributions to the team during his playing career.
