Marmol's most remarkable year was 2010 when he recorded a total of 38 saves and struck out 138 batters, setting a Cubs single-season record for strikeouts by a reliever. He was considered one of the most feared pitchers by the opposing team's hitter, as he had a 91-96mph fastball and a slider that made hitters tremble in fear. During his stint with the Cubs, he saved 117 games and had a 3.50 ERA in 491 appearances. However, his career started to decline in 2013 when he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he had a tough time adjusting to the new team's environment, which led to his release in the same year.

After his release from the Dodgers, Marmole began to play for the Cincinnati Reds, where he struggled with his pitching, leading to his retirement from baseball in 2017. Despite the ups and downs in his career, Carlos Marmol remains one of the best pitchers in baseball, leaving an impressive legacy. He is still remembered for his outstanding performances and the fear he instilled in opposing team's batters. Read even more about Carlos Marmol at Wikipedia
