Charlie Lea was born on December 25, 1956, in Orleans, France. He grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he discovered his love for baseball. Charlie played three sports in high school, but his passion for baseball grew stronger, and he eventually secured a scholarship to attend Loyola University in New Orleans. More about Charlie Lea

Charlie made his professional debut with the Montreal Expos on September 12, 1980, against the San Francisco Giants. Two years later, he threw the first no-hitter in Expos’ history against the Giants. Charlie’s career highlight came in 1984 when he won 15 games with a 2.89 ERA and represented the National League in the All-Star Game.
