Charlie Morton Autographs
Charlie Morton is a professional baseball player who currently plays as a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). Morton was born in Flemington, New Jersey on November 12, 1983. Morton found his love for baseball at a young age, and he enjoyed playing catch with his dad in his backyard. It wasn't long before he started playing organized baseball and began to develop his skills as a pitcher. Morton attended Red Land High School in Pennsylvania, where he played baseball and football.
After graduating from high school, Morton was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the third round of the 2002 MLB draft. Morton spent six seasons in the Braves minor league system before making his Major League debut on June 14, 2008. Morton would spend the next few years bouncing back and forth between the majors and minors until he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in June 2009. During his time in Pittsburgh, Morton continued to improve and establish himself as a reliable starter. Morton was instrumental in helping the Pirates win the National League Wild Card game in 2013. Morton later signed with the Houston Astros in 2017, where he played a key role in the team's World Series Championship that same year. In January 2021, Morton signed a one-year contract with his original team, the Atlanta Braves, where he continues to pitch at a high level.
Morton has been an excellent pitcher throughout his career, known for his fastball velocity, curveball, and control. He has received numerous awards and accolades, including being named an All-Star twice (2018 and 2019), winning the Babe Ruth Award (given to the best pitcher in the postseason) in 2017, and being a part of two World Series champion teams (with the Astros in 2017 and the Braves in 2021). Morton has become one of the most respected pitchers in the game and has become a role model for aspiring pitchers everywhere. Despite facing adversity throughout his career, Morton has continued to work hard and never give up on his dreams.
