Chris Archer Autographs
Chris Archer is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Born on September 26, 1988, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Archer began his baseball career while in high school. After graduating from Clayton High School in 2006, he attended the University of Miami for a year before transferring to Hillsborough Community College to pursue his dream of playing professional baseball.
Archer was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the fifth round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft. After four years in the minors, he was traded to the Chicago Cubs in 2011. In July of that year, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays, where he made his major league debut on June 20, 2012. Archer quickly established himself as one of the best pitchers in the American League. He was an All-Star in 2015 and twice finished in the top five in the Cy Young Award voting.
Despite his success, Archer battled injuries in the later years of his career, and he announced his retirement from baseball on April 13, 2022. Throughout his baseball career, he played for the Tampa Bay Rays, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Tampa Bay Rays. He finished his career with a record of 63-80, a 3.69 ERA, and 1,165 strikeouts in 1,128 innings pitched. Archer’s career was characterized by his dominant fastball, his deceptive slider, and his infectious love for the game, making him a beloved figure among baseball fans.
