Covelli Crisp, who is commonly known by his nickname Coco, is a former professional baseball player from America. He was born on November 1, 1979, in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Inglewood. In 1999, he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 7th round, but he didn’t sign and instead attended Los Angeles Pierce College before transferring to Pierce Junior College in Woodland Hills, California. Crisp got his first professional contract in 1999 when he was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 7th round. More about Coco Crisp

Crisp made his major league debut for the Cleveland Indians in 2002, where he played as a center fielder. He played for Cleveland for four seasons, appearing in 463 games and acquired a batting average of .287 with 41 home runs, 228 RBI, and 151 doubles. He then played for the Boston Red Sox, where he enjoyed considerable success, including a World Series championship in 2007. He earned MVP honors in the 2007 ALCS, during which he batted .333 and hit two home runs. Crisp played for the Red Sox for three seasons, where he amassed 1463 plate appearances, 93 stolen bases, and 335 hits at a batting average of .271.

Crisp finished his career with the Athletics, where he had his longest tenure in baseball. He played six seasons with the Athletics from 2010 to 2016, batting .257 over 598 games. During his time with the Athletics, he was instrumental in getting the team to three straight postseason appearances from 2012 to 2014, including an American League West division title in 2012. Crisp retired at the end of the 2016 season, after having spent 15 years playing professional baseball.
