Colby Lewis is a retired American professional baseball pitcher. He was born on August 2, 1979, in Bakersfield, California. Lewis began his baseball career in 1999 after being drafted by the Texas Rangers in the first round of the MLB draft. Lewis made his MLB debut in 2002 and spent several seasons with the Rangers before being traded to the Detroit Tigers in 2005. He later played for the Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals, and Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Nippon Professional Baseball before returning to the Rangers in 2010. It was with the Rangers that Lewis had the most success, becoming a key member of the team’s starting rotation and helping lead them to two World Series appearances in 2010 and 2011.

Lewis retired from professional baseball in 2016 after 11 seasons in the majors. Over the course of his career, he won 77 games, had an ERA of 4.70, and struck out 965 batters. He was known for his impressive pitching skills, particularly his ability to throw a variety of pitches with great accuracy.
