Haren was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the second round of the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his debut for the Cardinals in 2003 and established himself as a reliable starting pitcher. He was later traded to the Oakland Athletics in 2004, where he continued to shine. In 2007, Haren was selected to his first All-Star Game and finished the season with a career-high 15 wins. He was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2008, where he had one of his best seasons, finishing with a 16-8 record and an impressive 3.33 ERA.

Over the course of his career, Haren recorded a total of 153 wins, 131 losses, an ERA of 3.75, and struck out 2013 batters. He was also a three-time All-Star and a two-time Gold Glove winner. Despite his impressive record, Haren never won a World Series ring. Nevertheless, his contributions to the sport of baseball are immeasurable, and he will always be remembered as one of the game's most reliable and consistent pitchers. Today, Haren serves as the pitching coach for the Los Angeles Angels, where he continues to pass on his wisdom and experience to the next generation of players.
