Dan Uggla Autographs
Dan Uggla is a former Major League Baseball second baseman who played for several teams throughout his career. He was born on March 11, 1980, in Louisville, Kentucky, and attended the University of Memphis where he played college baseball for the Memphis Tigers. Uggla was not drafted out of college but signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks as a non-drafted free agent in 2001.
Uggla made his Major League debut in 2006 with the Florida Marlins and quickly became a standout player. He hit 27 home runs in his rookie season, setting a record for most home runs by a rookie second baseman. Uggla continued to be a productive player for the Marlins, earning All-Star selections in 2008 and 2009. He was traded to the Atlanta Braves in 2011 and played there for three seasons before being released in 2014. Uggla also played briefly for the San Francisco Giants in 2014 before being released again.
Over his career, Uggla was known for his power hitting and ability to hit home runs from the second base position. He finished his career with 233 home runs and 769 RBI. Despite his success as a player, Uggla struggled with consistency and strikeout rates, leading to criticism from fans and analysts. Nonetheless, Uggla was a key player for several teams during his 10-year MLB career and left a lasting impact on the game.
