Dave Martinez is a former Major League Baseball outfielder and current manager of the Washington Nationals. Born on September 26, 1964, in Brooklyn, New York, Martinez grew up with a love for the game of baseball. He eventually joined the Chicago Cubs organization in 1983 after being selected in the third round of the MLB draft. Martinez had a lengthy 16-year career in the majors, playing for nine different teams, including the Cubs, Montreal Expos, Cincinnati Reds, San Francisco Giants, Chicago White Sox, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, and Atlanta Braves.
