Dave Valle is a former Major League Baseball catcher who played for five different teams across nine seasons. He was born on October 30, 1960, in Bayside, New York, and attended Holy Cross High School in Queens. After graduation, Valle attended the University of Arizona and played for the Wildcats baseball team before being drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the second round of the 1978 draft. After his time with the Mariners, Valle played one season each for the Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, and finishing his nine-year career with the Baltimore Orioles. In 1993, Valle helped lead the Orioles to the American League Championship Series. After retiring as a player in 1997, Valle went on to work as a broadcaster for ESPN and the Mariners. He has also been active in charity work and founded the Esperanza International Foundation, which provides aid to impoverished communities in the Dominican Republic.
