Dennis Martinez is a retired Nicaraguan professional baseball player who spent his career playing as a right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on May 14, 1955, in Granada, Nicaragua, Martinez began his baseball journey with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1974. It wasn't until he joined the Montreal Expos in 1986 that his pitching prowess would become more widely noticed. Martinez's career highlights include a perfect game for the Expos against the Dodgers on July 28, 1991. He helped the Expos clinch their only playoff berth in 1981, and he had 245 career wins on the mound.
