DJ LeMahieu Autographs
DJ LeMahieu is an American professional baseball player who was born on July 13, 1988, in Visalia, California. He grew up in Michigan and attended Brother Rice High School, where he played baseball, football, and hockey. In 2007, he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 41st round of the MLB draft, but he chose to attend Louisiana State University (LSU) instead.
While at LSU, LeMahieu played baseball for the Tigers from 2008 to 2009. In his sophomore year, he led the team to the College World Series championship and earned the title of Most Outstanding Player in the tournament. In 2009, he was named SEC Player of the Year, and he declared for the MLB draft after the season. In the second round of the 2009 draft, LeMahieu was selected by the Chicago Cubs.
LeMahieu made his MLB debut with the Cubs in 2011 and played for them until 2018. During his time with the Cubs, he played primarily at second base, but he also played at third base and shortstop. In 2016, he won the National League batting title with a .348 batting average. In 2019, he signed with the New York Yankees as a free agent and has since become a key player on the team. In 2020, he won the American League batting title with a .364 batting average, becoming the first player in MLB history to win the batting title in both leagues. LeMahieu's career highlights also include two All-Star selections, four Gold Glove awards, and a Silver Slugger award.
