Don Lund, born on January 5, 1923, was an American professional baseball player and coach. He began his baseball career in 1945 when he was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played as an outfielder for various teams including the Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Browns and the Baltimore Orioles. After his baseball career, Lund started coaching at the University of Michigan in 1959. He spent 10 years as the head coach for the Wolverines and won two Big Ten titles. He became a successful baseball coach during his time at Michigan and is credited with building a strong baseball program at the university. Lund coached various college teams during his career, including Florida State and Western Michigan.
