Don Money

Don Money was born on June 7, 1947 in Washington, D.C. He was a prolific player of baseball and played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) for 16 seasons. Money began his professional career in 1965 with the Philadelphia Phillies organization. In 1968, he advanced to the major league team and played for them for six seasons. During his tenure with the Phillies, he played primarily as a third baseman and right fielder. Money was also recognized as one of the most consistent hitters on the team, batting an average of .269 with 176 home runs and 661 runs batted in. More about Don Money

In 1974, Money was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers where he played for eight seasons. During his time with the Brewers, he played as a second baseman, third baseman, and designated hitter, and was quite productive in all three positions. In 1978, he was instrumental in leading the Brewers to their first postseason appearance, where they lost to the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series. Money earned multiple awards and recognition for his performances on the field, including being named an All-Star four times, a recipient of the Silver Slugger Award in 1978, and earning the Gold Glove Award twice in 1973 and 1975.

Don Money retired from professional baseball in 1983 after playing his final season with the Milwaukee Brewers. He had a lifetime batting average of .261, 176 home runs, and 729 runs batted in. Post-retirement, Money has remained involved in the game of baseball, working as a coach, manager, and scout. His contributions on and off the field have cemented his legacy as one of the best players to ever play the game, and he is remembered fondly by fans and fellow players alike.
