Linton began his professional baseball career in 1987 when he was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the second round. After working his way up through the minors, he made his MLB debut on May 23, 1992, against the Texas Rangers. During his rookie year, Linton put up respectable numbers, starting in 18 games and accumulating a 3.31 ERA. However, he struggled with consistency over the next few years and found himself bouncing around from team to team.

Linton's most successful season came in 1998 when he played for the Kansas City Royals. He started 25 games that year, amassing a record of 11-9 with an ERA of 4.07. Overall, Linton pitched in 204 major league games, with a record of 25-28 and an ERA of 4.57. He retired from baseball in 2003 and currently works as a scout for the Toronto Blue Jays. Linton may not be a household name in the world of baseball, but he certainly had a successful and memorable career. Read even more about Doug Linton at Wikipedia
