Drew VerHagen Autograph

Drew VerHagen is an American professional baseball pitcher currently playing for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball. He was born in Texas in 1990 and attended Vanderbilt University, where he played college baseball for the Commodores. After college, VerHagen was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the fourth round of the 2012 MLB draft. He spent four seasons in the Tigers' organization, making his major league debut in 2014. Over four seasons with the Tigers, VerHagen compiled a 5-8 record with a 5.11 ERA in 97 appearances. In 2018, VerHagen signed with the Hanshin Tigers of the Nippon Professional Baseball league.

During his time with the Hanshin Tigers, VerHagen became a key member of the team's bullpen. In 2020, he recorded a career-best 2.76 ERA in 45 appearances. In December 2020, VerHagen signed a new contract with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. He is expected to be a valuable asset to the team's pitching rotation in the upcoming season.
