Ed Charles was a professional baseball player, born on April 29, 1933, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Nicknamed "The Glider," he was a third baseman who played for several teams in Major League Baseball (MLB). Charles kicked off his baseball career in 1952 after being signed by the Boston Braves in his hometown.
