After being drafted in the third round of the 1990 NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers, Ed West made his debut with the team as a tight end. He played for the Packers for six seasons, contributing to their Super Bowl XXXI win in 1997. He then played for two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before transferring to the Kansas City Chiefs. At the Chiefs, he played for three seasons before retiring from the NFL. Over his eleven-year career, Ed West caught 274 passes for 3,575 yards and 18 touchdowns.
