Edinson Volquez Autographs
Edinson Volquez is a professional baseball player who has played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) since 2005. He was born on July 3, 1983, in Barahona, Dominican Republic. As a teenager, Volquez was noticed by scouts and was signed in 2001 by the Texas Rangers. He made his MLB debut with the Rangers in 2005 and played for them until 2007.
In 2008, Volquez was traded to the Cincinnati Reds, where he played his best baseball. He was named an All-Star in 2008 and posted an impressive record of 17-6 with a 3.21 earned run average (ERA) in 2008. Volquez continued to play for the Reds until 2011 when he underwent Tommy John surgery to repair ligament damage in his right elbow. After recovering, he signed with the San Diego Padres in 2012 and played for them until 2013.
Volquez played for several other teams, including the Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals, and Miami Marlins. He helped the Royals win the World Series in 2015, earning a win in Game 1 of the series. In 2017, Volquez signed with the Marlins and pitched a no-hitter against the Arizona Diamondbacks, becoming just the sixth pitcher in Marlins history to accomplish the feat. Overall, Volquez has a career record of 96-87, with 1,256 strikeouts and a 4.44 ERA. He retired in 2019, but his contributions to baseball will not be forgotten.
