Thomas is best known for his successful stint with the Milwaukee Brewers, where he played for nine seasons, from 1973 to 1983. During his time with the Brewers, he became a fan favorite for his powerful swing and his ability to hit home runs. In 1979, he hit 45 home runs and led the American League in home runs. He was also an All-Star in 1981 and won a Silver Slugger award the same year. Thomas retired from baseball after the 1986 season.
