Greg Maddux Autographs
Greg Maddux is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher who is often considered as one of the greatest pitchers of all time. He was born in San Angelo, Texas, in 1966 and grew up in Madrid, Spain, where his father, a U.S. Air Force officer, was stationed. He began playing baseball at an early age, and by the time he was in high school, he was already a standout player.
Maddux began his professional baseball career in 1986 when he was signed by the Chicago Cubs. He quickly established himself as a dominant pitcher, winning the National League Cy Young Award in 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995. In 1995, he was also named the National League Most Valuable Player. He went on to play for the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Diego Padres before retiring in 2008 with a career record of 355 wins and 227 losses and a lifetime ERA of 3.16.
Maddux's pitching style was focused on pinpoint accuracy and control, rather than overpowering hitters with speed. He relied heavily on his ability to throw different pitches, including a devastating change-up that confounded batters. He was also known for his work ethic and dedication to the game, often studying opposing batters and meticulously analyzing his own performances. His career highlights include eight All-Star selections, four Cy Young Awards, and induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014.
