Davis showed immense promise in his rookie year, as he hit 19 home runs and recorded 71 RBIs in 147 games. However, he suffered a setback in 2011 when he was diagnosed with Valley fever. The condition weakened him and led to a slump in his performance. Davis didn't give up, though, and he bounced back in 2012, hitting 32 home runs and setting a career-high record for RBIs with 90. Davis played for the Mets until 2014, after which he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Oakland Athletics, and the Texas Rangers, respectively.

Throughout his career, Ike Davis was known for his impressive power hitting and his outstanding defense. He played primarily as a first baseman but also appeared at other positions like left field and designated hitter. Despite several injuries that hampered him during his career, Davis never lost his drive and continued to push himself to be the best player he could be. Off the field, Davis also devoted himself to philanthropic work, supporting organizations that helped underprivileged children and families. Read even more about Ike Davis at Wikipedia
