J.J. Hardy is a retired American baseball player who made a name for himself as a solid and reliable shortstop throughout his 14-year career. Born on August 19, 1982, in Tucson, Arizona, Hardy started playing baseball at a young age and quickly rose up the ranks. In 2001, Hardy was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the second round of the Major League Baseball draft. He spent several years in the minor leagues before making his Major League debut in 2005. Hardy quickly became a standout player for the Brewers and was named to the All-Star team in 2007. He continued to excel over the next few seasons, setting a career-high in home runs with 26 in 2008.
