Jason Lane Autographs
Jason Lane is a former Major League Baseball player who was born on December 22, 1976, in Santa Rosa, California. Growing up in Sonoma County, Lane developed a love for baseball from a young age. Lane attended the University of Southern California and played college baseball for the USC Trojans. After completing his college career, he was drafted by the Houston Astros in the sixth round of the 1999 MLB draft.
Lane played for the Astros from 2002 to 2007, where he was primarily used as an outfielder. He became a household name in Houston when he hit a game-tying home run in the 2005 National League Championship Series. Lane's best season came in 2005, where he hit 26 home runs and drove in 78 runs, helping the Astros reach their first World Series in franchise history. After his stint with the Astros, Lane played for several MLB teams, including the Padres, the Blue Jays, and the Yankees. He also played in the Mexican League, where he won two championships and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player in 2016.
Jason Lane currently serves as the head coach of the University of Houston baseball team. In addition to his coaching duties, Lane also continues to stay involved in baseball as he has played in independent leagues, including the United Shore Professional Baseball League and the Atlantic League. He is a beloved figure in Houston and is remembered for his contributions to the success of the Astros in the mid-2000s.
