Jason Marquis is a retired American professional baseball player who was born on August 21, 1978, in Manhasset, New York. He began playing baseball at a very young age and quickly grew to love the sport. After high school, Marquis was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the first round of the 1996 amateur draft. He spent five years in the Braves' minor league system before making his major league debut in 2000. Over the course of his 15-year major league career, Marquis played for ten different teams, including the Cardinals, the Nationals, the Mets, and the Padres.
