Jeff Jones is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for five different teams during his career. Born on August 23, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, Jones began his professional career in 1977 after being selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 16th round of the amateur draft. He spent four seasons in the minor leagues before making his debut with the Athletics in 1980. Jones played for the Athletics until 1982 before being traded to the Seattle Mariners.
