Jim McAndrew is a former American professional baseball pitcher who was born on October 26th, 1944 in Lost Nation, Iowa. He was drafted by the New York Mets in the 14th round of the 1965 Major League Baseball draft and spent his entire baseball career playing for the Mets. McAndrew made his Major League debut on April 20th, 1968, and immediately made an impact by pitching a complete-game shutout against the San Francisco Giants, cementing his place in the team's rotation.
