Joe Moeller was an American professional baseball player born on August 16, 1944, in Dubuque, Iowa. He was an accomplished right-handed pitcher known for his fastballs and curveballs which made him a valuable asset for any team. In high school, he played both baseball and basketball, but it was ultimately his skills on the diamond that earned him a place in the big leagues. Moeller started his professional career in 1962 with the Ogden Dodgers, a minor league team where he played through to the 1965 season. Later that year, he made his Major League debut for the Dodgers, where he played through to 1969. During his time with the Dodgers, he made significant contributions to the team, earning a record of 29-31, pitching 570 innings, and striking out 450 batters.
