Joe Nuxhall was a professional baseball player known for his career with the Cincinnati Reds. Born on July 30, 1928, in Hamilton, Ohio, Nuxhall's early interest in baseball led him to become one of the youngest players to sign with a major league team. After his return, Nuxhall rejoined the Reds in 1946 and went on to have a successful career as a pitcher with the team. He played for 16 seasons with the Reds, retiring in 1966 with a lifetime record of 135 wins and 117 losses. Nuxhall was known for his accuracy and consistency on the mound, and also held the record of being the youngest player to pitch in a major league game, when he made his debut at the age of 15.

In addition to his baseball career, Nuxhall was also known for his work as a broadcaster. After retiring from playing, he became a popular announcer for the Reds, where he continued to work until his death in 2007. In recognition of his contributions to the game, he was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame and the Ohio Baseball Hall of Fame. Throughout his life, Joe Nuxhall remained an important figure in the world of baseball, leaving behind a legacy as a player, broadcaster, and ambassador for the sport.
