Johnnie LeMaster was a baseball player who was born on June 19, 1954, in Portsmouth, Ohio. He started his baseball career as a shortstop for the Phoenix Giants, a minor league baseball team that played in the Pacific Coast League. LeMaster's Major League Baseball career lasted for 12 years, during which he played for both the San Francisco Giants and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Over the course of his career, he accumulated a .222 batting average, with 23 home runs and 271 runs batted in. LeMaster was primarily known for his defensive skills and his ability to make spectacular plays at shortstop. He was also a team leader who was respected by his teammates for his work ethic and his dedication to the game.

After retiring from baseball in 1987, LeMaster returned to his hometown of Portsmouth, Ohio, where he worked as a truck driver and later as a coach for the local high school baseball team. He remained involved in baseball throughout his life, both as a coach and as a fan. In recognition of his contributions to the sport, LeMaster was inducted into the Scioto County Athletic Hall of Fame in 1988. He passed away on April 17, 2021, leaving behind a legacy as a dedicated and skilled baseball player who inspired many with his passion for the game.
