Jose Urena Autographs
Jose Urena is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Detroit Tigers in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on September 12, 1991, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Urena started his baseball career with the Miami Marlins organization in 2009, where he spent most of his time pitching for their minor league teams. After a few performances with the Marlins in 2015, Urena made his mark in the MLB in 2016 when he secured a permanent spot in the Marlins' rotation.
During his time with the Marlins, Urena showed great potential, quickly becoming a valuable member of their starting rotation. He had his breakout season in 2017 when he went 14-7 with a 3.82 earned run average and 113 strikeouts in 169 2/3 innings pitched. In 2018, he became the Marlins' Opening Day starter, beginning the season with six scoreless innings against the Cubs. However, Urena struggled in 2019, going 4-10 with a 5.21 ERA and allowing 28 home runs in just 84 2/3 innings.
After spending more than a decade with the Marlins organization, Urena joined the Detroit Tigers in 2021. Despite the occasional inconsistency, he remains a valuable asset to any team and has the potential to excel on the field.
